Over the years, the Lemon Bay Conservancy has actively supported the purchase of parklands in both Charlotte and Sarasota Counties. A recent land acquisition in 2004 was the purchase of additional waterfront property at Cedar Point Park, providing important habitat for endangered species as well as buffering for Lemon Bay and adjacent waters.

The green circles on the map indicate lands protected by the conservancy in both Charlotte and Sarasota Counties. These properties which we have preserved are to enhance existing public open spaces, or have been designated as wildlife refuges open to the public.
