Wildflower Preserve Photo Contest presented by Lemon Bay Conservancy

Lemon Bay Conservancy invites all amateur photographers to help introduce the public to and to help document Wildflower Preserve's natural beauty by participating in the Wildflower Preserve Photo Contest.

The contest begins Dec. 1, 2011 and continues thru Feb. 15, 2012. To be eligible all submitted photographs must be taken at Wildflower Preserve during the contest period. Entrants may submit as many photographs as the wish. The entry fee is $5.00 per photo for current Lemon Bay Conservancy members and $10.00 per photo for non-members.

Photographers must sign a liability release (waiver) form and submit it to the Lemon Bay Conservancy office before their first visit to the preserve to take pictures for the contest.


Volunteer guides will lead Wildflower Preserve orientation tours specifically for photographers on
Saturday, December 3, at 9:00 am and on Wednesday, January 4, at 9:00 am. Special orientation
tours for photography clubs and groups can also be scheduled by calling the LBC office.

The goal of the contest is to document the natural beauty of the plants, animals, and scenery of
Wildflower Preserve. Photos may include people or manmade elements, but the judges will be
focusing on natural elements.

Cash prizes for contest winners will $100.00 for the First Place Winner
and $50.00 for the People’s Choice Award winner. First, second, and third place winners,
along with Honorable Mentions selected by the judges, will receive a recognition certificate
and will be posted on the LBC web site.
